Maple Privacy Desk is a service of 1414618 B.C. Ltd., a British Columbia corporation. We prepare the privacy documents Ontario’s municipal institutions need under the amended MFIPPA, for a published fixed price, reviewed by a certified privacy professional and ready for your head to review and sign.
Why this desk exists
On January 1, 2027, every municipality and local board under MFIPPA takes on the same new duties, whatever its size: privacy impact assessments, a safeguards duty, breach reporting and notice, and a yearly breach count to the IPC. Larger institutions often have privacy staff for this. In many smaller ones, privacy is one job among elections, council agendas, records and freedom of information requests.
The IPC has published good free guidance. What a busy office often lacks is the time to turn that guidance into its own policies, templates and a first finished assessment before the date arrives. That is the work we do, and the only work we do.

We prepare. Your head reviews, changes what they want and signs. We never sign, file or contact the IPC for you.

Our free check and our research read only public web pages. We do not name any institution in our research, and we never name a client without written permission.

This site has no forms, cookies, analytics or advertising. We ask only for what the work needs, and never for logins.

Not a law firm
We give no legal opinions. Questions such as whether a statute authorizes a collection go to your solicitor.
Not part of government
We are a private company. We are not part of, or endorsed by, the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, the Province of Ontario or any municipality.
